Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci was born on November 12, 1961, in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onesti), Romania. Nadia is the Romanian Olympic gymnast. She holds the record for being recognized with 10/10 scores in an Olympic competition. Bela Karrolyi is an Romanian gymnastics instructor, who later became Comaneci's coach and first became aware of Comaneci when she was just six years old. Comaneci competed for the first time at the national junior championships. She finished 13th. The following year she was crowned champion. In 1972, at the communist nations' meet for juniors before the Olympics, she was awarded three medals of gold. After that, in 1973 and 1974 she won the all-around junior champ. In her very first competition at the senior level, Lyudmila Turkishcheva of Russia won five gold medals as well as one silver. She became the first female to do a reverse double salo with the uneven parallel bar in the event she won American Cup, New York City 1976. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. When she was in her teens she started appearing on travelling shows such as Ice Capades as a skater alongside her younger sister Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol's first job was in entertainment as a teenager. She started her career performing figure skating with Nina Wayne, her younger sister, in the traveling entertainment shows Ice Capades. They featured staged ice skating performance.
