Eve was born in London England the daughter of actors Trevor Eve and Sharon Maughan. Jack George and Jack George were her little brothers. She was born and educated in England and then Los Angeles. She attended Bedales School, and took A-levels at London's Westminster School. In the following year, she was a student at the Beverly Hills Playhouse before studying English at St Catherine's College Oxford. When she was at Oxford and in Oxford, she was a student in productions of An Ideal Husband Animal Crackers as well as The Colour of Justice. Eve is a regular in BBC dramas, including The Rotters Club Poirot & Hawking and 2004's film Stage Beauty. Eve was a key character as a co-star in Starter for 10 (with her co-star Simon Pegg speaking with an American accent) and Big Nothing (2006). She spent the early part of the year in India working on a drama mini-series Lost Gemma about backpackers. Eve was in Trevor Nunn's two stage productions. In 2006 she appeared in Rock n Roll a new show written by Tom Stoppard at the Royal Court Theatre as well as reprised her part in 2007's Broadway transfer. Her family is a multiracial family and is the daughter of an Indian-British dad who is of British descendance Anthony Mitra, and an Irish-born mother Nora Downey. This English actress, who is in her mid-life, has two brothers: Jason Mitra (older brother) and Guyan Mitra (younger brother). Her younger brother, Guyan Mitra is a well-known journalist who was included within Lonely Planet as well as The Sunday Times.
